As this was our inaugural trip to the Grampians, Mount Stapylton’s rocky amphitheatre provided us with a good sense of its rugged landscapes. Huge cliffs and weathered rock rise out of Wimmera Plain farmland that surrounds it; yet its steep pathways were challenging but rewarding; with incredible views. Additionally, we saw lots of kangaroos during our trek up from Taipan Wall carpark (near Mount Zero picnic area) via dirt track to Mt Stapylton Circuit trail (which leads uphill to Mt Stapylton Circuit trail).
