Brisbane Grammar School is a nondenominational, independent school located in the inner city suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. It is the oldest secondary boys school in the state and some of the school buildings are listed on the Queensland Heritage Register. Founded in 1868, the school is home to approximately 1700 students, many of whom go on to pursue careers in finance, medicine, law, and engineering. The blatant inaction of school administrators and police may have led to the continuation of David Lynch’s abusive activities. As a result, the school is now facing a legal battle to overturn the deed of release.
The School also hosts a wide range of extracurricular activities, including sports, visual and performing arts, and special interest clubs. Boys can use the co-curricular activities to pursue their hobbies and talents, and develop their leadership skills and teamwork skills. In 2011, BGS debating first XV beat Nudgee College at Ross Oval to win the QDU and GPS premierships.
