The Brisbane Entertainment Centre
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre is a multi-purpose arena situated in Boondall, a suburb of Brisbane City in Queensland. The arena hosts concerts, musical theater performances and other events with seating capacities up to 13,500.
Access is convenient with both a train station within walking distance and Gateway motorway nearby. Food options may be expensive (think airport prices), so plan ahead by eating before heading there.

Located in Boondall
The Brisbane Entertainment Centre regularly presents large-scale musicals, live popular music performances, ice skating shows and various other events for local audiences. Additionally, this venue hosts many corporate and business functions with seating plans in both end stage mode and intimate “in the round”. Furthermore, The Stars Restaurant at this arena provides pre-show dinners along with drinks.
Built for Olympic Games that never occurred, the Entertainment Centre may soon become obsolete. With better transport access and much closer proximity, its days may have passed for good.
Boondall Station on the Shorncliffe line is also much easier to access; music is what counts and if artists are good, any venue doesn’t matter as long as their performance is memorable – something Twenty One Pilots fans demonstrated with pride tonight as they sang along to “Bandito Tour” just as though this were their inaugural time seeing them here in Australia.
Opened in 1986
The centre is a multi-purpose indoor venue, housing a 15,000 seat arena suitable for various sports viewing and offering sporting facilities along with smaller function rooms that are available to hire for wedding receptions or business events.
This facility features various seating plans, from end stage mode, “in the round”, and intimate mode, which utilizes only half of the arena. The venue has hosted major concerts by P!NK as well as being home court for Brisbane Bullets of National Basketball League as well as hosting two ANZ Championship grand finals.
Concertgoers looking for their favorite artists or families looking for entertainment will enjoy attending. However, the venue does have some drawbacks; its look has seen better days and its food offerings do not provide many options; therefore it would be wiser to eat before going or bring along some snacks from home.
Seating capacity: 15,000
Built to international standards, the Brisbane Entertainment Centre features 11,000 tiered seats and can host concerts of up to 13,000. Its large audience makes it suitable for hosting concerts and theater shows as well as hosting skating events such as Disney on Ice.
Brisbane Bullets won a National Basketball League (NBL) Championship here in 1987, and later used as filming location for short-lived TV show Gladiators.
Boondall is easily accessible by both car and public transportation, being within close proximity to both Gateway Motorway and Sandgate Road for accessing tunnels or inner city bypass routes, as well as being walking distance away from its train station. We advise leaving plenty of time before an event, particularly during peak hours when travel can take time due to finding parking space at an arena or venue.
