1. Wembley Park

Wembley Park offers plenty of shopping, dining and entertainment options – perfect for families. Here you’ll find some of Brisbane’s premier restaurants and bars as well as a nine-screen cinema and childcare and fitness facilities.

The area also offers several fascinating boutiques and independent stores, such as Pascal Fessler Art Gallery which boasts an eclectic array of works ranging from sketches to paintings on canvas and Kraft paper. Also notable is Book & Kulture pop-up store which puts underrepresented authors and crafters center stage.

Pet lovers will adore Tuckeroo Park, one of Brisbane’s largest off-leash dog spaces. Offering plenty of grassy space for running around and playing as well as tunnels and ramps in its agility area – plus close proximity to Nudgee Beach where your pup can then cool off in Downfall Creek before moving on!

2. Chapel Hill Reservoir

On the eastern edge of a suburb, this park offers dogs an off-leash area to run freely and play. Dogs will love getting some exercise here while their owners can cool off under shaded areas while having fun! In addition, there is even an agility area and locals regularly visit to go for walks!

The park boasts an abundance of bird species such as Rufous Whistlers, Australian King Parrots, White-throated Nightjars and Pale-headed Rosellas – many of which can often be seen feeding in nearby trees. There’s even a birdwatching track dedicated to birding!

Carrboro and Chapel Hill rely heavily on this reservoir and dam for drinking water, with approximately 80% of their needs met from its three billion gallon capacity. Constructed in 1989, its construction is surrounded by several parks; in addition, community artwork designed by students from Indooroopilly State School are displayed along its walls by street art mural group SAMA.

3. Streets Beach

Streets Beach in Brisbane’s South Bank Parklands is one of Australia’s most unique and enjoyable attractions, providing stunning views of both river and CBD. Established as Kodak Beach when it first opened its doors in 1992, this man-made beach is patrolled by lifeguards and boasts crystal-clear waters filled with lifeguard-protected swimming areas; an absolute must visit when visiting with children!

This inner city beach boasts sand and palm trees and offers free swimming access. Additionally, this site is popular among picnickers; on sunny days the place can become packed.

Streets Beach is part of South Bank Parklands, a sprawling 17 hectare space offering shaded paths, rainforest, water features, restaurants and events – such as Courier Mail Piazza, Nepalese Peace Pagoda and Wheel of Brisbane – along with other landmarks like Courier Mail Piazza and Nepalese Peace Pagoda, Wheel of Brisbane etc. Situated along Brisbane River’s southern bank, Streets Beach’s riverside walkway draws joggers, walkers and cyclists of all ages for relaxing exercise while taking in Brisbane sights of Brisbane!

4. New Farm Park

New Farm Park is one of Brisbane’s best family parks to visit, offering a huge playground area for children as well as large green park space to picnic or simply hang out in. Plus, walking the river trail provides stunning scenery!

The park is home to the Geoff Masters Tennis Courts, Merthyr Croquet Club and New Farm Library as well as being host to Sydney Street ferry terminal and End of the Road coffee shop.

There are plenty of places for relaxation or spending quality time with family and friends in Brisbane; enjoy a rose garden stroll, take a river cruise, visit the Brisbane Powerhouse or browse one of its weekend farmers markets – not forgetting rotunda performances or simply snack on something tasty!
