Friends of Sydney Olympic proposed purchasing the club, hoping it would enable its sleeping giant status in National Soccer League to rise again. But it took several extraordinary general meetings for members of Sydney Olympic to accept this decision.

Goodwin Park
Goodwin Park is a neighborhood park situated along Grandview Beach’s canal and features a playground, picnic amenities and beautiful surroundings. Premium seating options also exist for fans looking to avoid crowding areas.
The upper tier of the stadium was designed with contoured seats to leave open space in its corners, and canted roof canopies to maximize airflow – this allows supporters in one section of the stadium to see those from other sections easily.
Since 2024, this stadium has served as the venue for Australia Women’s National Soccer Team matches. With a capacity of 8,500, Tameka Yallop and Klepp IL teammate Kirsty Butt have both scored goals at this venue – both have made the top ten list this season for worldwide goal scoring! Tameka Yallop is an Australian soccer player who currently competes with Klepp IL and Australia Women’s National team. She is married to Kirsty Yallop from Klepp IL; together they share one daughter. Tameka received an Australian Institute of Sport scholarship award, as well as being named 2022 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner.
