History
Brisbane City Football Club strives to promote fun and enjoyment at all times. Furthermore, the club is dedicated to developing young players of all ages and abilities through our ‘Football For All’ program.
The club is situated at Perry Park on Abbotsford Road in Bowen Hills and boasts a main pitch, secondary training grass, synthetic training area and six dressing rooms. This well-kept ground receives top notch floodlighting for match day enjoyment.
In 1977, Brisbane Roar became the first professional sporting side from Queensland to compete in a national competition – The Philips League – and went on to win their first two National Titles; The Philips Cup (1977 versus Marconi FC and 1978 against Adelaide City).
After ten seasons at the NSL level, Newcastle returned to the state league in 1986 and has since won a variety of local, state and national trophies.
